TERMS AND CONDITIONS

General conditions

  1. The only formal requirement for enrolment in the courses is to be over 18 years of age. Minors will require authorisation from their parents or guardian to take the course, since our company is not responsible for them once they leave the school facilities. Minors traveling in a group will need to be accompanied by a supervisor.
  2. The minimum and maximum duration of each course, starting dates and academic entry requirements will depend on each type of course. Students can find out about this information on our official website or in the course information documents provided by the school.
  3. The student's level will always be evaluated with a written test prior to the start of the course. In the event of disagreement with the result obtained, the student will always be able to present their point of view and may have a written and oral reevaluation to determine their language level.
  4. The General Spanish Course will have a certain duration in specific hours, which each student will book in the form of an hour voucher upon enrolment in school. The student will be able to make use of the school's resources as long as they have hours in their voucher and the voucher is active, for example, as long as the student does not stop their classes. Hour vouchers do not have a time limit for completion, that means, students can attend all the hours contracted without attesting to the time period in which they will complete them. The only exception will be students with a study visa, who must, within the period of time defined by their study visa, attend at least 80% of the classes. At the end of the time period of their visa, they can only recover a maximum of 20% of the contracted classes. In face-to-face General Spanish Course classes will be given in small groups with a maximum of 10 face-to-face students. It should be noted that these classes can be offered in a hybrid or mixed format, that is, with students that study from a distance together with the face-to-face students, so the total number of students can be greater than ten in class.
  5. The Special Coursesreferring to all courses that do not only offer General Spanish (for example, Preparation Courses for the DELE, Courses for University Access and Higher Education, Marketing Course, Spanish and Culture Course, University Follow-up Course and Training Courses of Professors), are booked for specific time periods, unlike the General Spanish Course. Therefore, Hispania does not allow the recovery of classes that have not been attended. The content of these courses can combine General Spanish with other subjects, or only subjects other than Spanish. In face-to-face Special Courses classes will not be taught in small groups, and can also be offered in a hybrid or mixed format.
  6. The number of home study hours is approximate to the number of weekly course hours. However, school does not enforce homework. Only in the event that the student wishes, will they be assigned complementary home study work.
  7. The groups of the General Spanish Courses will always be made up according to the level of the students, there is no age, sex or nationality restriction. However, as far as possible, an attempt will always be made to compose multicultural groups, with the minimum possible number of speakers of the same language and of similar ages.
  8. In our General Spanish Course each class will last 2 hours (110 minutos). In our Special Courses the duration of each class can be 2 hours (110 minutes), or 1 hour (55 minutes), depending on the type of course.
  9. The practical classes, in the courses that include them, will always be supervised by a teacher and previously arranged. They will always be taught to volunteering students who will attend the class for free.
  10. The school has 30 classrooms for the teaching of classes, distributed between the main building and the annexed classrooms. In addition, classes are scheduled from time to time outside said classrooms, either on the terraces or in the city. These "experimental classes" will always be notified in advance, so that students can choose to attend or not attend them voluntarily, being able to take normal classes if they prefer. These "experimental classes" do not have an added cost, so they do not include special medical insurance, although students can request the hiring of the same if they wish. Therefore, our company is exempt from any responsibility for any eventuality that may occur during the course of such activities outside the school grounds.
  11. To move up the level, all the students may be required to take a written and oral exam to verify their level of language. This exam may be requested by students at any time they deem convenient. Taking and marking these exams will be the responsibility of the Academic Coordination.
  12. At the end of the course, the students will be able to receive a Course Achievement Certificate, which will indicate the final level acquired by the student, together with a detailed report of the communicative objectives of the level acquired and the total hours taken. To receive this certificate, students must have attended at least 80% of the classes. Students on blended courses must achieve a minimum of 80% attendance in both the face-to-face and the non-face-to-face part to obtain the Certificate of Achievement. The percentage of remaining classes can be enjoyed in the future as General Spanish classes. In the case that the student would like to use their remaining hours on the General Spanish Course to take a different course, the student must pay the economic difference between the course would like to take, exchanging the hours between the courses. Students in Observer Mode will receive a certificate of attendance with the total number of hours of their course indicating that this type of course does not allow the active participation of the student in the class and, therefore, there is no evaluation of it. For this reason, in these cases only the total hours of the course will be indicated, without mentioning the level of the classes, since it is the student who can choose this freely. Thus, students in Observer Mode that would like to obtain a Course Achievement Certificate must take the corresponding number of hours at each level and prove it by passing an exam.
  13. A "Letter of Acceptance" for the course will be only issued at the school enrollment or by renewing a course. In the case that a student has not completed the number of necessary class hours for a previous course, if they decide to enroll in a new course, the "Letter of Acceptance" will only reflect the number of hours that make up the new course. The school reserves the right to offer these students the possibility of recovering the pending classes of the first course during the completion of a second course.
  14. Bank holidays and holidays, in which the school will be closed, will be published on our website and official school documents. Classes corresponding to holidays can be made up.

Enrollment and reservation of courses

  1. To confirm the reservation, individual students need to pay the full payment of the program or a first payment of 150 euros. In case of paying only 150 euros, students should complete the payment on the first day at school in cash or by credit card. In case of students who require a visa the full price of the course will have to be paid so that the school can issue the letter of acceptance for the course. Groups must make a first payment of 50% of the total cost of their program and complete a second payment with the other 50% of the total at least 15 days before the arrival of the group in Valencia.
  2. In the case that the student would like to obtain a certificate of enrolment at the school to obtain a scholarship, or a letter of acceptance to obtain some type of visa, the full cost of the course must be paid in order to obtain said document. - Cancellation at least 1 week before the start of classes: refund of the total paid.

- Once the course has started, the total or partial refund of the amount paid will not be possible.

  1. Those who require a visa, after issuing the Letter of Acceptance from our school, can only cancel the course under the following conditions:

- If the visa has been denied: the student must present the school the official letter issued by the Embassy or Consulate of Spain with the denial of the visa or withdrawal. In case of refusal, our school may require the student to appeal to the Embassy or Consulate if it deems it appropriate, which can help to prepare the student if they request it. If this appeal is also denied, or if our school does not believe the appeal is appropriate, the student will receive a refund of the price paid for the course and accommodation, except for the management fee, which will be the following:

  • Sending an acceptance letter for a long-term course (13 or more weeks), via email and / or postal mail, for a study visa: to the student a fee of 300 euros will be deducted from the total paid.
  • Sending of acceptance letter for short course (12 or less weeks), via email and / or post, for other visas: to a studen fee of 200 euros will be deducted from the total paid.
  • In addition, the student will be charged the costs of postal shipments by shipping companies, as well as bank fees when making the transfer.

The student could get receive the corresponding number of hours of classes for the amount of the applied management fee, in case you can travel with another type of visa.

In case of denial, the maximum period of time to request a refund of the amount paid for a course, due to a denial of a visa, will be one year from the date of issuance of the confirmation of enrollment of the student.iantea. Therefore, no amount will be refunded if the refund is requested after the scheduled date for the completion of the course, which is stated in the acceptance letter. For this reason, the studyianYou will be obliged to request from our school a document attached to your acceptance letter to postpone the start date of your course if you are waiting to receive a response from the authorities for the approval of your study visa. If the studyianYou have not requested the document attached to your acceptance letter to postpone the start date of your course, the date indicated in the acceptance letter will be understood as the start date of your course, so the amount corresponding to all classes passed at the time of the refund request.

Each studyianthose who request a change of their visa to stay for studies or renewal of their NIE in the city of Valencia They will be obliged to start their classes on the date scheduled for the start of their course indicated in their acceptance letter, since in case of refusal, no amount of the course will be refunded, so the studyianYou could only change the total hours of your course for hours online if you cannot reside in Valencia.

If the visa has been granted: It will not be possible to cancel the course, so no amount will be refunded either for the course or for the accommodation. By having the obligation as a student to not attend the course, our school will inform the relevant authorities of the case.

  1. Our school will not be responsible for any additional charges that the agencies that collaborate with us request from the students, so any percentage of return will be made based on the official prices of our services, published on our official website, not considering any other payment outside our school.
  2. In case of interruption of the course once it has begun, the school will never be able to return any amount for the remaining classes. However, the student will receive a voucher indicating the total number of hours remaining that the student can perform when they prefer.
  3. At no time can the student transfer or sell their class hours. In case a student uses the identity of another to attend your classes, our school will report it to the authorities.
  4. The start of the course may be postponed as long as the student requires it without any additional cost.
  5. These cancellation conditions described above will apply in general conditions. Due to unforseen circumstances they could be modified.

Operation of the General Spanish course and class reservation system:

  1. Each student, when enrolling in the school for a General Spanish Course, will acquire a balance of class hours that will make up their course (acquired in the form of the type of course and number of weeks of the course). Example: Intensive course (10 hours / week) / 4 weeks = balance 40 hours.
  2. Each student can manage their attendance weekly, so that you can vary the number of classes you attend each week, with the only restrictions of your level, schedules offered for that level and a maximum number of 10 people per class.
  3. The bonus of hours will not have a limited duration in time. In the case of students with a study visa, the course time is limited to the time of the study visa. In the event of renewal, that is, a new course is purchased, a maximum of 20% of the hours of the first course may be recovered. These hours could be recovered only as a General Spanish Course (or they could be exchanged for a larger course by paying the corresponding price), and would never be taken into account in the new Acceptance Letter for the course.
  4. The price / hour of class will vary in some courses depending on the total hours of the voucher. The vouchers cannot be accumulated to obtain a better hourly price. By completing all the hours of a bonus, the student could extend their course enjoying the price / hour of their previous voucher. To get a better price / hour they should buy a higher hour bonus.
  5. The contracted hours of a type of course can only be changed to a different type of course by paying the difference in cost / class hour of the course to which you wish to convert. If the course is for a lower amount, it would be exchanged for a greater number of hours.
  6. Those who contract a Long-Term Spanish Course or Access to a University Master's Degree will be able to take the DELE course to which they have free access during the academic year in which they enroll in the course. After this period, they could take their remaining hours as a General Spanish Course.
  7. Each voucher will be personal and non-transferable, so it cannot be shared by several students.
  8. Courses other than General Spanish (DELE Preparation, Teacher Training, Exam Preparation for University Access ...) will have a predetermined duration, so they will not be governed by the hourly bonus system. Thus, enrollment will be made for the duration of each of these courses, so that the classes that are not attended will not be able to be recovered.
  9. To reserve and cancel classes on a weekly basis, the student will use the software that our school has for this purpose. From the beginning of the course, you will have to disposal online tutorials on the use of the software. This software offers maximum flexibility to students, since they can manage their balance of hours as they prefer, allowing to recover all canceled classes. The minimum period of time to make a reservation or cancellation of class will be 2 days at the beginning of said class, that is, you can never reserve or cancel a class for the next day. If the class reservation has not been made, the student will have to ask at reception if there is free space in the class before entering the classroom, since the maximum allowed per classroom is 10 people. If a students attend class without having reserved a place in advance they run the risk of repeating the contents of the class.
  10. Students are requested to attend classes on time to avoid disrupting classmates. If a student arrives more than 15 minutes late, the school may have given the seat to another student who, without a previous reservation, has requested to attend the class, so the student may not be able to attend if there are no seats available.
  11. Please treat classmates with respect and courtesy.
  12. Eating is not allowed in the classrooms.
  13. In case a student does not follow the disciplinary rules, the school may ask him to leave the course. In this case the money would not be returned.
  14. It is not allowed to cancel or reserve classes for the next day. For more information, please read the SOFTWARE USE RULES detailed on our website.

Accommodation

  1. Our school only participates as a mediator between students and property owners or accommodation companies to facilitate accommodation for students from Hispania, escuela de español. The school only participates as the depository of the payment made by the students and subsequently paid to the owners of the flats or accommodation companies. Therefore, any disagreement on the part of the student with the accommodation or in the event of taking any legal measure, should be addressed directly to the owner or company that provided the service and from which our school is completely dissociated. However, in the mediation service that our school provides, we are committed to helping students to find a new accommodation without any economic surcharge.
  2. Students will be asked to sign the documentation related to their accommodation, in accordance with what is requested by the accommodation companies.
  3. To calculate the price of accommodation, the weeks are always counted from Saturday to Saturday. However, the student can enter the day they want. If they want to leave the accommodation after Saturday, they will have to add an extra night for each day.
  4. In case of hiring an accommodation that is linked to a letter of acceptance for visa application, it can never be totally or partially canceled, so the studyianYou will not be able to request financial compensation for it. In case of denial of the study visa, the accommodation amount would be returned, except if the studentianYou decided to block the dates of your accommodation to ensure availability, in which case no refund would be made.
  5. Minors who have contracted accommodation and guardianship services with the school will not be able to cancel any of these services until the end of the accommodation stipulated in the acceptance letter. They will be obliged to fulfill their accommodation contract and will not have the right to request financial compensation.
  6. In case of partial cancellation of accommodation, a fee of 150 euros would be applied and the remaining amount would be returned. If the amount of the period to be paid is less than 150 euros, the rate would correspond to the total of said period.
  7. The reference date for the start of accommodation will be taken as the date indicated in the registration and which will also be indicated, if applicable, in the acceptance letter. Any change of date for the accommodation will not have any surcharge for the student, as long as it is done at least 7 days before the start of the event. Changes made less than 7 days before the accommodation start date will have a surcharge of 100 euros. However, before any modification of the accommodation dates, our school could not guarantee the initial reservation (same duration and type of accommodation), although it would always offer an alternative, which could have a different price than the initial reservation, which would be charged to student.
  8. If you wish to extend the duration of your accommodation, you must notify and pay for it at the school in advance of the planned departure date. However, the school will only be able to ensure continuity in the same room or the availability of the first reservation, not extensions.
  9. The accommodations are for the exclusive use of the students who hire them. In case of temporarily leaving the room, or before any visit, it will be necessary to notify the school and pay the amount corresponding to the guest's stay. Minors may not stay in shared flats, unless they do so together with their teachers / monitors and under their legal responsibility.
  10. The accommodation key will be collected according to the contracted arrival service.
  11. The room will always be available from 14:00 p.m. The student could arrive at the accommodation and wait in the common areas until the room is available.
  12. Those arriving after 20:00 hours must request the DeLuxe arrival service. Otherwise, that day you will not be able to provide the key to the accommodation. If this day you prefer to spend the night in a hotel, if you wish, our school can help you make the reservation.
  13. It will be necessary to pay a deposit of 100 euros when collecting the key to the accommodation. In case of any damage, the cost of the repair would be deducted from this amount. This deposit will be returned at the end of the stay and return the key, showing the receipt of payment.
  14. On the day of departure from the accommodation, the room must be clean and tidy, and available from 10:00 a.m., the student will be able to reside in the common areas of the apartment during that day until the required time.
  15. In certain cases, due to availability, we can offer a superior room, usually reserved for those who request a private bathroom and / or air conditioning, or share a room with a partner. In case of this circumstance, this room would not have any additional cost, so the student could enjoy this service for the price of your standard room reservation. However, if there is a new reservation that requires this room (when requesting "DeLuxe extras" or because it is a room with the possibility of being used by two students), our school reserves the right to request the student to change their room, for which we would offer free help in the movement.
  16. During the stay in the accommodation, it is mandatory to comply with the coexistence regulations that will be sent to all students housed in flats. Failure to comply with said regulations may lead to expulsion of the student from the accommodation.
  17. Our school can only guarantee the accommodation reserved by the student, that is, the accommodation for the period of time that has been paid. In case a student wants to make an extension of the accommodation they would have to check the availability with the school. Therefore, the only way to guarantee accommodation for the entire stay is by making full payment for the entire stay.
In case of long-term-students, in order to make the payment of accommodation more flexible, our school can accept the monthly payment of accommodation as long as the student will pay the first three months before the start of the accommodation (for the reservation of the same). Thus, after the first monthly payment, the student would pay the next monthly payment (fourth monthly payment) and so on respectively until the payment is completed. However, at specific times and due to a demand in the accommodation, our school may request the payment of a longer period of time or even the full payment of the accommodation in order to guarantee the accommodation requested by the student.
